PEKANA HOMEOPATHIC-SPAGYRIC MEDICATIONS
Founded in 1974, PEKANA Naturheilmittel GmbH of Kisslegg, Germany produces homeopathic-spagyric medications that meet the highest standards set by the German pharmaceutical industry. Their comprehensive line of high-energy remedies have been developed to help practitioners successfully treat both acute and chronic illnesses, while avoiding the detrimental side effects that often accompany use of allopathic drugs. Importantly, PEKANA medications do not merely suppress or mask symptoms, but heal the underlying causes of a wide variety of illnesses, such as bacterial infections, cystitis, liver disease, sinusitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis and many chronic conditions considered difficult to treat.
PEKANA-Naturheilmittel GmbH has undergone a classic development. The founder of PEKANA, Dr. rer. nat. Peter Beyersdorff, started his career in 1949 with an obligatory apprenticeship in a pharmacy. After two years, he completed his term, earning a pharmaceutical assistant degree. During his term as a pharmaceutical assistant Dr. Beyersdorff became extensively acquainted with a large variety plant remedies.
After finishing his studies at the university of Tubingen, Dr. Beyersdorff received a doctoral degree in Munich. The doctoral thesis was on the plant sarothamnus (Sarothamnus scoparius), that later appeared as the logo of PEKANA.
Dr. Beyersdorff seemed to have his dreams fulfilled when he built a pharmacy in Sulzfeld in 1960. Diseases and tragic losses within the family, however, opened the eyes of the pharmacist to the possibilities of alternative healing methods. As a result, a period of intensive study and experimenting began.
Developing Unique Remedies
Soon after, Dr. Beyersdorff began to develop his own products in the pharmacy. These remedies were prepared according to the guidelines of homeopathy and were made available for treatment of various illnesses, enabling a safe and effective therapy. It required more than ten years of experience with customers and patients until a comprehensive line of 80 special remedies were available. In 1974 the first production permit for PEKANA's own special homeopathic remedies was granted. As these remedies became more popular, Dr. Beyersdorff decided to sell the pharmacy in 1981 and settle in Kisslegg/Allgau to exclusively manufacture his own preparations. In 1983 Dr. Beyersdorff was appointed a member of Commission D of the Federal Health Authorities in Berlin to take part in the development of modem homeopathic monographs. He held this position until the end of 1995.
The Innovation Toward Spagirics
In the mid-eighties, Dr. Beyersdorff began research and development of the historical methods of processing plant remedies used in the past, called spagyrics. The term spagyrics was coined by Paracelsus (1493-1541), the great physician of the Middle Ages. The objective of Dr. Beyersdorff's work was to create modem spagyrics. He was completely convinced that the spagyric manufacturing process was homeopathic in nature. However, Dr. Byersdorff felt that it was not enough just to produce spagyrics, but rather that these medications needed to be tested and analysed to fully meet the current requirements of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia.
Uniting highly energetic spagyric compunds with homeopathic remedies has enabled PEKANA to create extremely powerful high quality holistic specialties with a low alcohol content. In 1991, PEKANA's own unique production process after review and approval by the Pharmacopoeia Commission of the Federal Health Authorities, was included in the 1. Official Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia. These PEKANA manufacturing processes for homeopathic-spagyrics are also mentioned in the American Pharmacopoeia, HPUS.
Moreover, in 1995, PEKANA-Naturheilmittel GmbH received an award for innovation from the State of Baden-Wiirttemberg for exemplary achievement and performance.
